Everything was going smoothly, my problem was going to be resolved until I gave them the serial # off my bow. Matthews called and told me my bow was used and would not warranty anything. I told them I had the receipt and paper work for the purchase of the bow but that didn't matter.

I would very much like help in Identifying the age of a Recurve Bow. My Father bought me a Damon Howatt (HUNTER). The markings on the bow say this- 55# @ 28' HH 5388 AMO 62. I have been doing some research myself but just not finding much. I know that Martin Archery purchased Damon Howatt back in the early 70's. It does not have any markings of Martin Archery at all, so I wonder if it is before the Merger. It has a Stabilizer Bushing and it has another threaded bushing on the back side of the Shelf, I guess for maybey a quiver. The bow itself is really beefy compared to todays recurves. Any HELP would be appreciated in finding out more about this bow. Thanks Luc-

your post on the Leatherwall will turn up more than here, but I can tell you that the first number in the serial number tells you the year (sort of). Your bow was made in 1965, or 1975, or 1985, or 1995, or 2005. knowing what the riser looks like and what it is made from will help more. the inserts could be factory or not hard to tell if they are factory I would actually guess 2005. Martin continued putting the Damon Howatt logo on long after they bought the company, and started putting them on agian.
